The afternoon includes a performance by Wai Taiko drummers, displays of ikebana (flower arranging), bonsai (miniaturised trees) and origami (paper folding), the presentation of prizes in the Katikati Haiku Contest and the dedication of seven new poem boulders.

... an Auckland Identity on the jazz/vocal scene with band The Fondue Set, Caitlin Smith has slipped effortlessly into songwriter mode. She has near-perfect phrasing, putting the words in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Sounds simple enough, but it's a talent that makes her songs soar to life.
